I got text messages from iCloudreport regarding my lost iphone , are they scams?

that happend to my friend just 2 days ago after her iphone 7 was stolen for a few days, she clicked the link and entered her icloud user password. but it was a scam message, the hacker removed her device in a second and no more access to her iphone location !!!

Do not log into that page. It's certainly a replica designed to harvest your ID and password. If you want to sign into iCloud go directly to the site at www.icloud.com on a computer (it's not meant to be available for iOS devices).

It's all fake. If you had set up 'Find My iPhone' you could find the phone yourself, provided it's on, not wiped, and able to connect to a network. If you didn't set it up you can't locate the phone and neither can anyone else. The emails are phishing, trying to con you into giving away your login.

I have just received message saying:

When i clicked the link there was a classic looking dialogue window when i put my iCloud email address and login.

Now I see it is a fake.

When I checked icloud.com the stole phone is not in my devices anymore.

My question is if there is some real other threat.

I have removed the credit card via iTunes and want to change my iCloud password.

Should I do anything more?

Yes, you should change your password as soon as you can. That should be enough.

The problem is that I was so nervous that I could not recall my security questions so now my iCloud password settings is locked for 8 hours for security reasons. Do you think it is safe for this time?

Can you actually log into http://www.icloud.com or http://appleid.apple.com ? If you can't, then nobody else can. If you can, then you should contact Support ASAP.

Yes, I can log in. The problem is that I cannot change the password now as I have tried to answer the security questions (during the pswd changing process) incorrectly and now it is unfortunately blocked for 8 hours.

I did try to call to my local (Czech Republic) Apple support but there are working only on Mon-Fri till 5pm and now we have a Fri 7 pm. Do I have to wait those 8 hours you think? I'm afraid that sending before weekend can be the intention of the party who make the fake 😟

I also just have changed the email address that my iCloud is connected with. When I'm trying to use the old one (the one I filled in the fake site) it will not log in. Maybe it is also some kind of protection for now.

I can't change my password also because of Security Questions but I know my answers are correct, I've been blocked for 8 hour because of maximum failed attempts. i have called the Apple Store, and they said that they will call me and send me email and my case no. but I think the thief had the full access on my phone. i just have a question, if I have passcode on my iPhone and he has may iCloud password or he hacked my account, can he access my files, or even my Private Apps with my passcode? or he will eventually restore the iPhone and erase everything that's in there? I really want to know the answers thank you.
