MacBook Pro EFI Firmware Update 2.7: installed or not?

I have MacBook Pro EFI Firmware Update 2.7 showing as installed on Mar 17, 2015 on my AppStore Updates page; it also shows up as installed on Mar 18, 2015 and yet Mavericks wants to install it again.

I seriously doubt this update has been updated so many times, something just doesn't seem right.

Questions: what should I do? Is there a way to get rid off this annoying (1) showing on the AppStore updates?

Try re-indexing Spotlight. The App Store uses it to know what is on your computer.

I'm seeing this as well. Nothing seems to make it stop displaying.

If I tell it to install, the process gets part way through and then says that the updates have changed. It then goes back to listing the same MacBook Pro EFI Firmware Update 2.7.

MacBook Pro 17", late 2011 with Yosemite 10.10.2

I have also been getting an error message that reads "An error has occurred" "The digital signature on Mac Book Pro EFI Firmware Update is missing or invalid. The update may have been tampered with since being signed by Apple. Click Update to download and check the update again.(203)" [OK]

This seems to indicate some sort of problem with/in the Apple Store, don't you think? Who do we call, Ghostbusters? :-) Hello, Apple, you there?

I submitted a bug report to Apple describing the problem. radar:20363574

See: rdar://20363574: Persistent presentation of MacBook Pro EFI Firmware Update 2.7 for an "open" look at what went into the Apple Bug Reporter.

You could file a similar report at: bugreport.apple.com and mention the error that you get regarding code signing.

It appears that Apple has just today (April 1 2015) fixed the problem with the 2.7 update.

If you install it now it should go through the entire process and no longer be listed as a fresh update.

Many many thanks! The update worked just fine. As it turns out, it was indeed an Apple Store issue.
