Q: iPhoto Version for Mavericks

What is considered the latest version (number) for iPHOTO in Mavericks. I have 9.5.1 and it's dated up to 2013. I understand there will be an update/upgrade out soon to "ready iPhoto" for the next step in Yosemite. How far behind am I with 9.5.1. If I need to update can you send me a link to do that please?

MacBook Pro (13-inch Mid 2012), OS X Mavericks (10.9.5)

That was the last Mavericks version of iPhoto. The Yosemite version you are talking about is 9.6.1 and was released today. You cannot upgrade to it until you install Yosemite 10.10.2.

iPhoto 9.5.1 is the last version for Mavericks. It isn't possible to update to iPhoto 9.6 without upgrading to Yosemite; both are available from the Mac App Store.

I just did a clean reinstall of Mavericks on my MacBook Pro and cannot install iPhoto. I do not see an option to install 9.5.1 in the App Store, only the latest version of iPhoto which requires Yosemite. Am I missing something?

I'd prefer to not upgrade when the original reason I did a reinstall was to improve performance.

How can I find iPhoto 9.5.1? (And no, I don't have a Time Machine backup.) I don't even care if I need to rebuy iLife for $15. I just want my photos.

Click here and try following the instructions, or buy an iLife 11 DVD from a source such as Amazon or eBay.
