Mar 19, 2015 3:22 PM in response to caninemissby Kappy,That was the last Mavericks version of iPhoto. The Yosemite version you are talking about is 9.6.1 and was released today. You cannot upgrade to it until you install Yosemite 10.10.2.

Mar 19, 2015 3:23 PM in response to caninemissby Niel,iPhoto 9.5.1 is the last version for Mavericks. It isn't possible to update to iPhoto 9.6 without upgrading to Yosemite; both are available from the Mac App Store.

Apr 2, 2015 2:20 PM in response to Nielby Trent Baur,I just did a clean reinstall of Mavericks on my MacBook Pro and cannot install iPhoto. I do not see an option to install 9.5.1 in the App Store, only the latest version of iPhoto which requires Yosemite. Am I missing something?
I'd prefer to not upgrade when the original reason I did a reinstall was to improve performance.
How can I find iPhoto 9.5.1? (And no, I don't have a Time Machine backup.) I don't even care if I need to rebuy iLife for $15. I just want my photos.
