Is there an issue with iOS 8.2?

It seems like there are a lot of people that are experiencing issues with iOS 8.2. I guess it was just a coincidence that this happened to me when I unknowingly updated my iTouch out of the box.

Missing songs and playlists after update

Nothing has worked to fix this. Is there an Certified Apple representative on this board that can address this with all of us? If so, what is the timeframe for fixing these issues?

😠

iPod touch (5th generation), iOS 8.2, iOS 8.2 is definitely not Scottish.

Does the iOS device connect to other networks? If yes that tends to indicate a problem with your network.

Does the iOS device see the network?

Any error messages?

Do other devices now connect?

Did the iOS device connect before?

Try the following to rule out a software problem:

- Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost

Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at

least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.

- Power off and then back on your router

.- Reset network settings: Settings>General>Reset>Reset Network Settings

- iOS: Troubleshooting Wi-Fi networks and connections

- Wi-Fi: Unable to connect to an 802.11n Wi-Fi network

- iOS: Recommended settings for Wi-Fi routers and access points

- Restore from backup. See:

iOS: How to back up

- Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.

If still problem and it does not connect to any networks make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store since it appears you have a hardware problem.

As the Hosts, yes Apple does do that. As far as anything beyond that they do not. Hence, the reason we are always suggesting that the feedback page be used. Anything posted there is read by Apple.

I agree, the feedback page is the best way to go. I do know for a fact that Apple does read some of the things on the discussions website. But if one wishes to address Apple directly, the absolute best way is by writing a letter and mailing it, (the old-fashioned way).

What I have noticed over the years, is that sometimes Apple people will answer questions about discontinued products. I have noticed this in particular with the iPod Classic, and iDVD. Many beginners to this website mistakenly think they are addressing Apple here. Like you, I always encourage them to use the feedback pages.

Those are the community specialists, and their job is to find posts that have been sitting for 24 hours or more that people have not responded to and provide them a link to the closest Apple Support document that can address their issue. If that does not answer the question, their second post is to generally contact the Genius Bar. They are really not that involved in troubleshooting, hence the reason we suggest using the feedback page if someone wants to have Apple read their issue.

Not sure I agree with you about not many people having issues. In December 2014, Kirk McElhearn of Macworld, in an article headlined iTunes Syncing Is Broken: Apple, Please Fix It, noted,

Now, syncing an iOS device—iPhone, iPad, or iPod—is too often an ordeal. And it is because it’s become untrustworthy. Will the sync work at all or will your content disappear and be transformed into something that fills the amorphous “Other” category in iTunes’ capacity bar. Will all of your content sync or just your music, or music, or apps? Sync problems between iTunes and iOS devices are all too common.... In its current state, iTunes syncing is broken and it can only be fixed by Apple.
