Possible to delete text in Preview?
I am working in Preview and need to delete text. When I added text to the duplicated image, it changed the original as well. Went wrong somewhere..but don't know where.
iMac, Mac OS X (10.7)

You added an annotation?
Once you save that, that is what it is going to be (since Preview is not a word processing app). If you want a copy, you can save your edited version by using Save As (hold option key while hitting File in the menu). You will then have two copies.
I only see "save a version" when I hit option/ file.
Is my original lost for good then? No way to go back in and delete the text (annotation) on the photo? I am confused as to what the heck happened since I did duplicate the photo so I wouldn't screw up the original.
Thanks so much for your response.
Ahh, and that is why you have a save a version option. I don't remember exactly how that functioned (and I did not care for it either as I didn't care for the Lion OS), but see if it creates a copy for you - I believe it does.
In the meantime, I will ask the hosts to move this to the correct forum (Lion).
Thanks, but I don't have a save option…only save a version.. when I hit the option key, it changes close to close all…I have Preview 5.5.3.
Well you posted in the Mavericks forum and the Preview in that OS is v. 7.
So, which OS are you running?
I'm so sorry…my OS is Lion 10.7.5
