Thanks for using Apple Support Communities. Based on what you stated, it sounds like the iPhone is not able to be backed up. I would recommend that you read this article, it may be able to help the issue.
If you can't back up or restore your iPhone, iPad, or iPod using iTunes - Apple Support

Mar 23, 2015 1:52 PM in response to mario49by hoffmyer,this article did not apply to me specific problem - my IPhone will not backup daily/automatically anymore to ICloud ...stopped backing up daily....I can backup phone to ITunes - can't to ICloud.....error message on IPhone is....the last backup could not be completed. Any other ideas?
