Q: burn in on macbook pro

I have a 2012 macbook pro that was bought for me to use for school through the VA. The screen has since the beginning had burn in issues. I thought it was part of having such a high def screen. Apparently I was wrong. What do I do to fix this?

MacBook Pro with Retina display, iOS 8.2

    Hi there Tripppysmurf,

As I understand it you are seeing an image persist on the screen even when it is off. I would use this section of the following article, named:

Avoiding image persistence on Apple displays

If you see a persistent image on your screen, you can use the screen saver to eliminate it:

    1. From the Apple () menu, choose System Preferences, and then click "Desktop & Screen Saver."
    2. Click the Screen Saver tab.
    3. Choose a screen saver.
    4. Set the "Start screen saver" time to be shorter than the "Display sleep" and "Computer sleep" settings in the Energy Saver pane of System Preferences.
    5. To clear the persistent image, allow the screen saver to run for approximately as long as the image was being displayed.

Thank you for using Apple Support Communities.

    All the very best,

    Sterling
