Only the host may change a user name. They do not do it often.

If the host do not make the change...

-- create a new appleid and new account name. This may be a good thing because I like to have a separate account for these forum so I do not have a create card associate with this id.

If it were me, I would forget it and trudge on - or take Robert's advice and create a 2nd one for whichever purpose. To be honest, I would also view the mis-information as an added security measure 😎

Depends on the place

When we analyze it thoroughly, it will always be GOOD to be FROM a place

1. Bad place = GOOD to be AWAY FROM it
2. Good place = GOOD in that one is PROUD to be FROM it

I guess the only variable is whether one WANTs to be KNOWN to be FROM a place

Bob has already responded to your issue in the only way we can, Eva, by notifying the Hosts. It isn't something any of us can directly assist with. Someone should be in touch with you. Requests to change user names are handled on a case by case basis, but the hosts are typically understanding about it.

My father was born and raised in Tabor City, NC. He joined the Army at 17 and never lived there again. That was not by accident. Nor would he admit to having come from there unless pressed. If you know anything of the history that little **** hole, you would understand.

My folks were FROM Waco, Texas - a good place to be AWAY from. With Texas politics the way they have been in recent decades, I am almost ASHAMED to be FROM The Lone Star State! At least we still have the countryside and AUSTIN (big Apple presence in Austin - not to mention SXSW this week) - and the good ol' days of Ann Richards, may she RIP.

I lived in Austin (and briefly in SA) in the early to mid 70's. Yeah - know what you mean about Waco. For Tabor City, think Waco, but much smaller and oout-of-the-way, and way more redneck.

One other small contribution. You can change your user name but only at the hosts' discretion.

One unmentioned reason is that any previous threads you have participated in have to disappear too, and that means other people's contributions are lost. Fortunately you have only one to be considered and no points to lose. Hopefully Bob's plea on your behalf will succeed but be careful with any new name. Perhaps evafromplanetearth will give you a degree of flexibility.
