the iBooks app is frozen. after quitting the app and restarting the iPad reopening the app brings up a blank white screen. Holding down the home button changes over to the app selection view with iBooks showing the book selection page. Tapping this page brings up the app showing the spinning timer frozen. Cannot get to any books.
Tried reinstalling iOS but no help. Any ideas?
This all started after trying to download an ebook from Blurb.

Have you tried closing the iBooks via the taskbar, the screen that shows when you double-click the home button ? Drag or swipe the app from that screen up and off the top of the screen to close the app :
Then re-open the app and see if it works.

If you connect the iPad to your computer's iTunes, does the book that you were trying to download show on the Books section under the 'on my device' heading - if it does you could try deleting it from there and see if that gets the app to work.
None of the usual tricks work ... iBooks still shows a white screen ... Is there a way to reinstall iBooks ?????
It's built-in to iOS 8, it can't be deleted and/or redownloaded. You could backup your iPad (and copy purchases over to your computer's iTunes library via File > Devices > Transfer Purchases ; and preferably take your own copy of any important documents and/or photos) and restore to the backup.
