If you are having an issue with your iPods not being recognized by iTunes when connected to your Windows computer, I would suggest that you troubleshoot using the steps in this article -
iPhone, iPad, or iPod not recognized in iTunes for Windows - Apple Support
Note that if you do have to reinstall iTunes (one of the last steps in that article) the media files for your music should remain undisturbed. See this article -
It is, however, a good idea to have the library backed up. See how to do so here -
