MacBook Pro 8,1 will not boot to OS, shows Instructions to shutdown and restart on Kernel screen...HELP!

MacBook Pro 8,1 will not boot to OS, shows Instructions to shutdown and restart on Kernel screen...HELP!

When powering unit on, the initial startup screen shows the Kernel info and "imposed" over it is a window that states to "re-start" by pressing and holding power button down and then powering unit back up....

I have performed this action several times...all with the same result....how do I get this unit to power up and boot to the OS? I have too many pics, etc...to lose!

Try starting in Safe Mode

OS X: What is Safe Boot, Safe Mode?

Boot to Recovery and then try repairing the startup disk

OS X: About OS X Recovery - Apple Support

Reinstall the OS. If yo follow these instructions nothing should be lost

OS X Yosemite: Reinstall OS X

In the future make sure yo have at least one backup of data.

I tried the "safe" boot...tried the "recovery" as well....once restarted, here's what I got:

Did you do this:

Reinstall the OS. If yo follow these instructions nothing should be lost

OS X Yosemite: Reinstall OS X

Also, can you get another photo of the top part of the screen since the message may point out that you have a hardware problem.

Also run Apple Hardware test

So sorry it took so long to get back to you....here's another photo,,,also, when I attempted to "reinstall" OS X Lion....it stated the HD was locked!

I do apologize for the "lag" in replies... .. ...it's not that this isn't important, I've just been having "family" issues! Any further help would greatly be appreciated. I hope the latest pic helps you to help me...
