I have an early 2008 24 inch and am trying to download a film from iTunes which 5.8Ghz. It downloads 2Ghz and freezes. any ideas?

I tried this before and it has downloaded 1.8Ghz, but will not run or start the movie or continue to download. Out of interest I have managed to download it on my iPad but not the Mac. Any other suggestions would be greatly received 🙂
