I tried to press and hold power button of thunderbolt external drive Caldigit T3, but I was also turned off the system without logoff!!
I would like to turn off the drive separately from the system, it is possible?
Anyone can help me?

Mac Pro (late 2013)
Yosemite - 10.10.2
No other hd drive
After you eject the drive the unplug the TB cable and then you can safely power off the TB drive.

Hopefully Apple will fix the problem in an OSX update since prior to a recent update that problem did not exist
I contacted support CalDigit but not helped me, so I returned the CalDigit T3 and bought a Promise Pegasus 2 M4. It costs a little more.... but it works perfectly! smallest, quietest, most capacious and fast!
