How to transfer data from windows portable hard drive to a new MacBook air?

I am getting a new MacBook air and need to transfer my data. I have a windows 7 laptop and a 2TB wd passport. I have several large home videos (larger than 4 GB) home videos. Any help would be appreciated!!!

Format the drive as Exfat.
