how can I connect my MacBook Pro with my iMac to transfer files etc.

Can I connect my iMac with my MacBookPro with a Thunderbolt cable to transfer any files? I did connect them but can't see on my iMac or MacBook the other Computer, why?


How can I get for example my movies, musik and motion 5 files from one to the other computer, is this possible with thunderbolt?
