Restoring via iTunes

All I receive is the Apple logo. I have rebooted many times and even left the unit unconnected for 2 days. Now I want ro restore the factory settings using the mini USB cable and iTunes, which is on my Compaq desktop. Where do I plug it into both the AppleTV box and the Compaq?

I understand that you would like to restore your Apple TV but are unsure of the process. In this situation, I would recommend reading over and working through the steps for restoring using iTunes located in the If your Apple TV still does not respond or if you were unable to follow the above steps section of the attached article.
