how to transfer pc laptop files to my new iMac?

Thank you all for your consideration...

I am a 2-Day owner of a new iMac (never had an Apple product before, all were pc's: MS Windows 7 now)

The Quick Start Guide that came with my iMac says at the bottom of page 5 (?) = "Let's get started"...

"To learn more about transferring files to your new iMac, go to

support.apple.com/kb/HT6408."

When I typed in the above text and clicked, I got to a blank page with the words at the top: Invalid URL

So I tried to do a Support phone chat, but it was busy and no one appeared to chat support...

(I realize it is Saturday Evening...), so I just found your community support group to ask for assistance...

It is not urgent, but I figured at least I'll post the question...
