Hello debbru,

Welcome to the Apple Support Communities!

I understand that you would like to file share using Bluetooth to your iPad. File sharing in iOS is does not work with bluetooth, but there are other options I would recommend. You can share files by using iTunes or AirDrop. Please read over the attached articles for more information on these processes.

Hi debbru,

You cannot pari your iOS device to your computer in the same way you would your mouse or keyboard. You can use Bluetooth to connect with your Mac for a couple of different uses, however. The attached two articles explain how Bluetooth is an option for using Personal Hotspot and how it is used with the new Continuity features.

Cheers,

Joe
