Q: iPhone not connecting: Error occurred while reading from the device
I'm having troubles connecting an iPhone 6 to my MacBook Pro. It used to work just fine, but suddenly stopped working a couple of weeks ago (not sure if it was after a software update on either of the devices). I've tried rebooting the computer and rebooting the phone, but nothing seems to help.
When I plug in the iPhone with a USB cable (any cable, I've tried multiple), I get this error on iPhoto: "This computer has not yet been granted access to media on <my phone>".
The device doesn't appear on iTunes at all and what's worse, the "Trust" dialog doesn't appear on the iPhone.
Someone suggested on the Internet that resetting the network settings will also reset the trust settings. I tried that, and indeed, after the reset, I get the dialog to show up on iPhone. However, when I press "Trust", iTunes only brings up a dialog saying "an error occurred while reading from the device".
Then I'm again in square one: the device doesn't appear on iTunes and iPhoto complains about device not being trusted. What should I do?
MacBook Pro (Retina, 15-inch, Late 2013), Mac OS X 10.10.2
iPhone 6, iOS 8.2
iTunes 12.1.0.50, iPhoto 9.6.1 (910.42)
