CD/DVD Super Dive not mounting on desktop

iMac (late 2009) i5

Super Dive: Optiarc DVD RW AD-5680H

CD/DVD will not appear on my desktop. (one exception, when suddenly after several minutes it popped up)

I have to eject using Terminal: drutil eject

Strangely, the disc DOES show up in the System Information!

Also, I CAN burn it, sometimes.

Everything worked perfectly fine before I upgraded to Yosemite.

So, I do not think I have a failing CD drive.

I checked firmware for iMac but required none.

This is very annoying.

Any suggestions?

iMac (27-inch Late 2009), OS X Yosemite (10.10.2), SuperDrive Optiarc DVD RW AD-5680H

You can also open up Disk Utility & eject discs.

Your drive may need cleaning. Cleaning kits can be purchased from any store that sells CD/DVDs.
