Q: Macbook Pro Retina 15" is lagging when it shouldn't be

Problem description:

Macbook Pro 15” Retina is lagging really badly, when it really shouldn’t be. Running Safari, Mail, Calendar, Messages, iTunes, Spotify, uTorrent, and a League of Legends installer. With the 2.0 i7 Quad Core and the 8 GB of RAM, I don’t see why this is happening.

Rid the MBP of the torrent application.  It is an open invitation to malware.

    Ciao.

Why do you think that?  I suggest that you do a search of these forums regarding torrents.  You then may have a different opinion.

    Ciao.

Because my problem is with the memory usage.

No it is not, you have less than 0.4GB of page outs, virtually nothing at all.

What leads to believe that?  If you read this support article it may influence your thinking regarding RAM usage.

Any time that my computer lags, I usually attribute it to a memory issue (and it looks like I'm wrong here). In this case, why do you think that my fans are running fast and there is a noticeable lag when pulling up Mission Control?

Why do you think that it is a memory shortage, I see no indication of that.

What color is your Ram Pressure graph (in Activity Monitor)

Fan speeds increase in response to heat generation.  Resource hungry applications or sometimes runaway application will cause that.

    https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT203184

RAM will not be a heat generator.

Open Activity monitor to ALL PROCESS and set CPU to display values from high to low.  This will display those applications that are taking up the most CPU/GPU resources.

You might try SMC and NVRAM resets:

    http://support.apple.com/en-us/HT204063

This may or may not help, but it will do no harm.

    Ciao.

You're getting the usual experience of posting "etrecheck" stuff on this site.

When you see a beachball cursor or the slowness is especially bad, note the exact time: hour, minute, second.

These instructions must be carried out as an administrator. If you have only one user account, you are the administrator.

Launch the Console application in any of the following ways:

☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)

☞ In the Finder, select Go Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.

☞ Open LaunchPad and start typing the name.

The title of the Console window should be All Messages. If it isn't, select

              SYSTEM LOG QUERIES All Messages

from the log list on the left. If you don't see that list, select

              View Show Log List

from the menu bar at the top of the screen.

Each message in the log begins with the date and time when it was entered. Scroll back to the time you noted above.

Select the messages entered from then until the end of the episode, or until they start to repeat, whichever comes first.

Copy the messages to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination command-C. Paste into a reply to this message by pressing command-V.

The log contains a vast amount of information, almost all of it useless for solving any particular problem. When posting a log extract, be selective. A few dozen lines are almost always more than enough.

Please don't indiscriminately dump thousands of lines from the log into this discussion.

Please don't post screenshots of log messages—post the text.

Some private information, such as your name, may appear in the log. Anonymize before posting.

I find this statement rather vague.  Would you please care to expound on this so that I may fully understand the meaning that you are trying to convey?

Your fans are running at Full Speed because your CPU usage is Way Up. When the CPU usage is Way Up it creates Heat. When the CPU creates Heat the Fans run at a faster speed. It has nothing to do with the amount of memory being used. It does have to do with the amount of CPU cycles being used.
