Can't add Canon Pixma MX310 printer with OS X 10.10.2 Yosemite

Thank you. This does work. I went to the Canon site and looked at all the drivers for the MX310 series: there wasn't one for Yosemite or El Capitan and so forth with the most recent operating systems, but I did download and install the drivers for the last Apple system that was supported, and after installing those, printing is going smoothly. Thanks.

There is no driver for the OS Version you selected. The driver may be included in your OS or you may not need a driver." Any ideas?

Yours isn't on it. You may be able to get the printer working, at least partially, by manually selecting the driver for a supported model, such as the MX320.

The last driver that Canon released for the MX310 was for OS X 10.9. You should be able to install and use this driver on OS X 10.10 so here is a link to that driver. Please note that since the drivers digital signature is not for Yosemite, Gatekeeper may stop you from installing it. To get past Gatekeeper, right-click on the installer and select Open from the pop-up menu that appears. Now you will get the option to install the driver. Once the installation has completed you should be able to open Printers & Scanner and select the MX310 series driver in the Use menu.

It worked, but gives an error that the software was installed incorrectly. But it printed what I was trying to print anyway. Mission accomplished. For now at least. Thanks!
