You need the person who owns the old AppleID to remove the Activation Lock so you

can set the iPhone up as a new phone. When you contact the owner of the AppleID,

have them do the things in this link:

Prepare your device to sell or give away

If you cannot contact the owner of the old AppleID, the iPhone is useless. This is

called Activation Lock and is a security feature in iOs 7 and later. There is no

workaround.

This is my iphone and i am the original owner. I changed my apple ID to another email address when the problem started. The iCloud and apple ID on the web > my computer> changed just fine. The problem is that my iphone is stuck with the old ID /password. When I try to restore or erase the iphone it asks for the old password associated with the old ID. What ever password I use it won't recognize it and or any combination of the old or new. It asks me to turn off the "find my phone", asking for the password > referencing the old email address. No combination will work:( It acted like it took last night, but when I turned it on today, it is back to the same old crap. It will not sync. I don't know how to change the email address on the phone. I have tried every combination of resets and dumps to no avail. I am ready to try the "Giant magnet wipe" to restore it to clear. I did find duplicate contacts appear today.
