PS3 Controller on OS X Yosemite Macbook

So i have tried everything to get my controller to work on my mac. No matter what I do, Bluetooth will not see my controller and I don't know why. Recently i tried getting a controller to work on my friends computer and it worked instantly. I didn't even have to look at Bluetooth. I plugged it in, reset the controller and pressed PS button and it automatically went into Steam Big Play or whatever. I tried that on mine and it didn't work. I tried all the tutorials on using it on Bluetooth but nothing works
