My Apple Mail mailbox list is displaying in green. I'd like to change the color, but can't figure out how to do so. I've tried going into both Mail Preferences and System Preferences.

I have a MacBook Air, OS X Yosemite. My Apple Mail is displaying in green--that is, the left-hand column with all the mailboxes shows in green. I dislike the color and would like to change it. I've gone to Mail Preferences and System Preferences but don't see any way to customize the display to my own taste. Does anyone know how to change the color display? Thanks.

Do you mean this area? Is this the region you're talking about? I cannot imagine how to get it green or any other color. So maybe you mean something different.

Yes, that's the area. The same space was just white/gray in my Snow Leopard Mail, which was fine. This green color in Yosemite is not to my liking at all.

Check System Preferences > General. They should look like this:

Also check System Preferences > Accessibility > Display and make sure nothing is unusual there.

Sberman, thank you for your response to my question. I checked out the Preferences section and all is as it should be, and yet I still have the ugly green email. Obviously it's not a huge deal, but I do appreciate your taking the time to suggest a remedy to the problem.
