Anyone having issues using the new iPod / nano (2015) in the car?

I just bought the newest iPod/nano. its 3/2015 I'm having issues connecting it with the auxiliary cord in my car. it makes a hissing noises ( as if connection *****) unless i turn the volume all the way up on the iPod. also the battery is dead within 20mins when i use it without a charger at the same time its in use with the auxiliary cord. this is the 2nd one I'm trying. returned the st ne because i thought it was a defect. i also tried buying a new auxiliary cord with gold plates.

using the current cords i have- i have NO issues connecting my iPhone 6 or one of my other iPods .

is this a product defect? i never had any problem with apple products until now.
