revoke permission for an app on family sharing

I gave my son permission through family sharing to download an app. i no longer want him to have the app. how can i remove it from his permissions? i tried deleting it from his phone, but because the permission to have it is there, he can just download again. i tried hiding the app also following the directions on the family share section of apple website but nothing happened.
