Delete all mail in inbox iOS 8

I am putting this here so that maybe Apple will see it and give their users what they want.

There is absolutely no way to delete all messages from your inbox.

This is due to the fact that Apple only does things with respect to their products, which is an ISAP mailbox, not a POP mailbox.

But I don't use their mail. I use my own mail and a POP mailbox.

And I want to remove all the emails from my Inbox and move them to the trash without having to delete each and every one individually.

Apple, this is simple technology, this is something that should've been on the first iPhone, iOs 1.

We want it. Please do not release another update without including this. End of story.

iPad Air, iOS 8.2, iPad Air 2, not on the list

It takes two hands

Go to Inbox

Select "Edit"-Button at top right

Select the first email in your folder.

Release that finger.

Press the Move button at bottom and keep it pressed.

While still holding the Move button, deselect the first email using first finger.

Now release both fingers and wait a few seconds

Now Mail should prompt you where to move all of your emails

Select the trash folder

From the trash folder, you can delete all items at once.

TThanks fior the suggestion!

two things:

1. iPhone 4s, iOS 8.2

it works, but then it doesn't... Your worktrough does delete all messages. As soon as I deleted them, the folder apears empty. But as soon as I go back and return in any inbox, they reappear... So, nothing's changed...

2. Ipad 4, iOS 8.2

applying the same worktrough, the screen freezes after selecting the trashcan... I admit, there are over 800 messages to be deleted, so it will take a lot longer, but 1 hour seems very long...

I agree this *****! The answers below worked for me once upon a time but not any more after an update. I can't de-select the first email while holding down the move button. There has got to be another way. I'm sick of the Mail program on my iPad and have deleted my mail account from it. What a stupid thing for Apple to do to infuriate so many Apple users with something they could fix so easily with a simple select all and delete button!! Very annoyed!

I have a desktop computer that I use to handle ninety-nine percent of the email that I send and receive. I have an iPad Air 2 and an iPhone 4s (both iOS 8.4.1) that are set up with my email accounts so I can view incoming emails during the day. On a day-to-day basis I can delete emails, one at a time, on these devices. But occasionally, I will not be able to use one of these devices for a few days and when I do there are 300-500 emails that I have already read and processed on the desktop computer. --- Apple! Apple!!! IT IS VERY TEDIOUS AND TIME CONSUMING TO DELETE 500 EMAILS, ONE SINGLE EMAIL AT A TIME. And yes, I’ve tried the “hold Move and deselect first email and then tap Trash” a hundred times and IT DOESN’T WORK as it used to. Evidently, an Apple update eliminated that procedure, the only procedure that we had for this asinine problem. Apple! Please, just give us a "Select All" button on the Inbox that activates the Trash Can button.
