Q: earpod volume buttons do not work on android

I have a Samsung Centura with Ice-Cream Sandwich Android OS. When I plug in the earpods, the microphone button pauses the music, but the volume buttons do not work. The earpods are brand-new, and the phone is 3 months old. Any Suggestions?

    Have you raised this question on a Samsung forum? It sounds like the ear buds are working, but that there could be some incompatibility with the Samsung device. Have you tested the ear buds on an iPhone?

    I have not tested it on an iPhone but I have tested it on an iPod and it works fine.

    To me, that shows that the ear buds work....just not with the Samsung Centura. I would check with Samsung or on a Samsung forum.

    I just checked the samsung Forum and talked to customer service they are not able to "assist" me with this device

    You have proved by testing with an iPod that the ear buds work.

     

    Since there is nothing on the ear buds to fix, the solution is somewhere within the Samsung device. If they won't help you, I am afraid there really isn't much this user-to-user forum can do to help.

     

    The only other question is whether you have tested other headphone or ear buds with the Samsung device. If you have and it works, use that. If it doesn't work, that means there is a problem with the Samsung device.
