I need to unlock my ipad, lost passcode, I need to know how to update safari so I can finish step 4 to back up.

I have a apple iPad mini I bought new last year in November. I don't know much of anything else except it has 16GB. There aren't any other problems

besides me forgetting the passcode. I have tried to get help from apple support but seemed to go in circles. It has been off for 2 weeks, they had me

update the iTunes and I tried to do the passcode but now it wants me to update Safari. I don't know where to find it.

I AM getting ready for step 4, but I don't know what that is. There was a back up or manual back up for all my data so I don't lose it, that is where I stopped,

just after step 3 was completed. I am completely lost.

Sorry. You're not making a lot of sense. If you forgot the passcode, how can it be asking you to update Safari?

We have no idea what steps 1, 2, and 3 are, much less this mysterious "step 4" that you're getting ready for...

If you can't remember the passcode you set on your iPad, and it was not already set up to sync with and back up to iTunes on your computer or iCloud, then there is no way to back it up at this point. Your data will be lost.

Forgotten Restrictions Passcode Help

iPad,iPod,iPod Touch Recovery Mode

You will need to restore your device as New to remove a Restrictions passcode. Go through the normal process to restore your device, but when you see the options to restore as New or from a backup, be sure to choose New.

You can restore from a backup if you have one from BEFORE you set the restrictions passcode.

Placing your device into recovery (DFU-Device Firmware Upgrade) mode:

Follow these steps to place your iOS device into recovery mode. If your iOS device is already in recovery mode, you can proceed immediately to step 6.

1. Disconnect the USB cable from the iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch, but leave the

other end of the cable connected to your computer's USB port.

2. Turn off the device: Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button for a few seconds

until the red slider appears, then slide the slider. Wait for the device to turn off.

* If you cannot turn off the device using the slider, press and hold the

Sleep/Wake and Home buttons at the same time. When the device turns off,

release the Sleep/Wake and Home buttons.

3. While pressing and holding the Home button, reconnect the USB cable to the

device. The device should turn on. Note: If you see the battery charge warning,

let the device charge for at least ten minutes to ensure that the battery has some

charge, and then start with step 2 again.

4. Continue holding the Home button until you see the "Connect to iTunes" screen.
