I've bought a DogCam HD2 video camera for recording my biking exploits.

The company suggests using VLC to view the output as QuickTime is sometimes unhappy playing it - and I've found this to be the case.

So, I'm wanting to edit my recordings, specifically I want to select small segments and export them for web use. Quicktime would be the obvious candidate as VLC and Mpeg StreamClip can't do this.

I've imported the clips into iMovie and can edit them there but they weight in at about 2.5 Gb each so it's a bit of a wait while it imports & thumbnails them then it's only a quick job to edit/title and export.

Can anyone suggest an alternative that will allow me to open a clip and do a quick edit?

I've had a look at Lightworks and I'll try it out, just wondering if there's any other quality alternatives.
