Mar 23, 2015 8:06 PM in response to Rleoby Trabbbb, exact same problem. Honestly I'm surprised that this old version of iTunes is supposedly still supported by iTunes Match. But it is still within the requirements specified by iTunes Match so I would hope this problem is either fixed or the requirements are updated...

Mar 24, 2015 1:29 AM in response to Trabbbbby Rleo,Thanks for your reply Trabbbb.
I was also thinking it was a glitch. Hope the tech's have noticed it and do manage to fix it soon.
As I mentioned previously everything was fine until recently.
That included Playlists, Playlist Folders etc.. All was good between my old and new machines.
It does appear they have some on-going operational problems with this service. Even with Intel based machines.
Not quite the finished article yet.
Would they update the 'requirements' - I do hope not .......... my take is that it's a database - all it has to do is remember.

Mar 24, 2015 8:53 AM in response to Rleoby Jimzgoldfinch,Hi,
Read this How to troubleshoot iTunes Match - Apple Support
Note specifically:
Before trying any of the steps below, make sure that you meet the iTunes Match minimum requirements:
- iTunes 10.5.1 or later.
- Mac: Mac OS X v10.6.8 or later.
- Windows: Windows Vista or later.
- iOS devices: iOS 5.0.1 or later.
Curiously, the support articles for subscribing to match only refers to having iTunes 10.5.1 or later

I do agree it does appear curious. I note that the 'How to troubleshoot iTunes Match - Apple Support' webpage was last updated on 5th March.
What prompted this - one cannot be certain, it may have something to do with my recent problems.
Delving deeper the support article perhaps does indicate some anomaly .........
iTunes 10.5.1 or later suggests Mac OS 10.5 -> 10.5.8
But
Mac OS 10.6.8 or later suggests from iTunes 11.4
(Source: Wikipedia search - iTunes version history)
Could it be a typo ? and should be Mac OS 10.5.8 ?
If so, this may explain why I can still go through the 'Update iTunes Match' procedure and obtain the correct total number of songs available to me.
I sense that the server is simply hanging up or dropping the connection to me.
Or, subject to later confirmation, I'm in the process of being depreciated !!

Mar 24, 2015 11:36 AM in response to Rleoby Trabbbb, good questions.
I'll note that I tried twice the thing where you hold down option while selecting 'update itunes match' and it's supposed to clear the cache. This works 'better' than doing it without holding option in that it will duplicate a couple of my playlists and add the default smart playlists back into my library on other synced machines but otherwise does not sync (as apposed to syncing without holding option which says it's synced but does nothing).
I also tried creating a new, empty iTunes library and syncing with Match and that didn't work either, ruling out some irregularity with my ancient iTunes library.

Jun 21, 2015 12:22 PM in response to Trabbbbby Trabbbb, funny, https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT204146 has been updated as recently as May 26 and the requirements still do not state Mac OS 10.6.8. I'm still holding out some hope that my powerbook will match with itunes another day!!
