Q: Apple TV not showing up on Itunes for restore

My Apple TV (3rd gen, 1469) came up with the blinking light issue yesterday, and now it won´t even show up in Itunes for restore. What am I doing wrong? The Apple logo came up on the Apple TV, I unplugged it, after trying to boot it from the remote several times. I plugged it to my minimac running 10.9.5 and Itunes 12.1.0.50. No go, nothing. The blinking just goes on and on... What am I supposed to do, throw it in the bin?
