iPhone 4S side broken

Hello

I recently dropped my iPhone 4S and today when I took it out my pocket I noticed the side was broken, right between the front glass en the metal band. A piece of that structure broke off. Because of this the hardware inside is exposed and I am worried about the increased potential for water damage and dust accumulation.

I still have the pieces that broke off and as a temporary measure I've used tape to keep them in place. However, I was wondering if it was possible to glue these pieces back to the phone without damaging any of the internal electronics.

I have included pictures of one of the pieces that broke off (the other one is significantly smaller) and of the gap that is now on the side of my phone.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I know it's my choice. It's also my choice whether or not to run over my phone with my car, but I'm sure we'll both agree that's not a very good idea. Before I make this choice I want to be better informed about the potential consequences.

Perhaps someone else has something to say that could help me better in this regard.
