How can I determine the age of my Mac Pro?

Looking to upgrade the OSX on my MacPro and need to know when it was manufactured.

How can one find the manufactured date for a Mac Pro?

Choose About this Mac from the Apple menu, click on More Info, and check the model identifier against MacPro3,1, which is the earliest Mac Pro that can run Mountain Lion and newer.

Poop! I have a Mac 1.1 Too old to upgrade any further.

To get details about your Mac model, click the Apple icon at the top left of your screen, choose About This Mac, then choose More Info. These Mac models are compatible with OS X Yosemite:
