A problem has occurred following some software updates on my iMac. I cant access the internet whilst the PCs can. The network was previously secure but I have unsecured it in an a futile attempt to fix the problem. When I go into Network diagnostics the 'enter airport information' box says the network requires a password. There is NO password; it is unsecure. The previous password I had does not work when I input it. I would like to solve the issue; worst case scenario is there a 'system restore' to a previous date like Windows?
Thanks
P.S. the airport is showing connected to the network on the top right status bar but I cant access the internet.
There is no "system restore" as such. If you didn't make a backup before you updated, you might want to get an external hard drive and install the operating system on that, and recover information as needed, as my FAQ explains:
Thanks for the suggestion but it was not a back up issue.
I reset the wireless router and started a new network and now all is well. If all else fails turn it off and on again and if that doesnt work do a reset. Same as Airbus!
