Audio not playing as loud in Windows 8.1 as it is on Mac OS

I am hoping someone has had a similar issue.

We recently purchased the new MacBook Air model and installed Windows 8.1 via Boot Camp. Everything seems to work fine except the sound is half as aloud as it is on the Mac side.

The MacBook Air is replacing a mid 2012 model that has worked fine and we didnt have any issues with the audio on teh Windows OS.

My guesss is the hardware and/or drivers have changed which is causing the volume issue.

I would be most grateful if anyone can help or point me in the direction of a resolution.
