My apple tv is not responding. When it is connect to the tv, I can only see the apple logo. And when it is connected to the iMac nothing happens. Just the led on the unit that flashes rapidly. Can not see the unit in iTunes.

Did you follow the instructions similar to these - note there are specific differences in power for AppleTV2 and AppleTV 3:

Can you try a different microUSB cable? Some are power only.
Now it`s ok. I had a bad cable.

I have the same problem. I have tried three Micro USB cables, none are working. iTunes cannot see the ATV no matter how many times I follow the procedure listed.
What else do I try? Is this now a very overpriced paperweight?
