Printer offline

Keep getting a printer offline message when trying to print wirelessly. Hard wired it prints ok

What printer is it? Does it ever print via Wi-Fi?

If you have the printers IP address open Terminal (Applications/Utilities) and at the prompt type: ping {printerIP}. You will get a reply or failure.

If you haven't done so already, try resetting the printing system.

Canon mx870 The printer apparently is hooking up with the modem, Wi-fi light in printer is on

Never printed wireless with this printer before.

Can you ping the printer using Terminal. It requires the IP address of the printer.
