When I sync my iPhone and iPad Air using iTunes (12.1.1.4) on Windows 8.1 and have ticked the "Sync calendars with Outlook" box on "Info" on both, the calendars are NOT synced. Is there some magical trick I am missing here?

If your Outlook calendar is not being synced to your iOS devices even though the option is selected in iTunes, then I'd like you to please follow the troubleshooting in the article below.

Really - this is the best answer? Some of us don't have forever to this stuff. Moreover I cannot see why it does not work straight "out of the box". If this is the best option/solution on offer it will be quicker and easier to get a new phone and tablet that do sync my diary.
