Advice on upgrade or new Mac needed

I need advice about adding RAM to my Mini vs. purchasing a new Mac, or a refurbished one. My Mac mini is mid 2010, 2.4 Ghz core 2 duo, 5 GB RAM, NVidia G force 320M 256 MB. I need 3D in Photoshop, so have been using a notebook PC lately. Now the PC is dead. Can I upgrade my Mini or is it time for a new Mac? If a new one, Mini, iMac or MacBook Pro for maximum shelf life.

Mac mini, OS X Mavericks (10.9.5)

Your Mini can accept 8 GB of memory (2x4).

The limited memory and not that good graphics on the 2010 Mini make it not a good candidate for use with PhotoShop.

I would get an Apple refurbished Mac. The current ones are listed here

A recent MacBook Pro with enough memory would be fine since the memory is not upgradable
