What is a safe reliable playstation emulator for mac

I have yet to see a 'safe & reliable' PSX emulator on OS X - they crash and are buggy & generally unreliable from the few I have seen.

You can look at PCSX (PS1)

and PCSX2 (PS2)

http://pcsx2mac.net/downloads/

These are cumbersome to install and may require you to get files from your original Sony hardware.

I'm hoping someone else can post a better option, these are not that great.
