syncing ipod to macbookair

My 4th Generation ipod was synced with my MacBook which died 😟 I have a new MacBookAir now. What will happen to all my data if I connect my ipod to the new MacBookAir. I have no music, photos etc. on the new computer. Will I lose the info on my ipod?
