Q: Can Compressor output to DNxHD

I am working with FCP X and Compressor 4, working with a genleman who is on a PC and would like me to output files in DNxHD codec for Avid.

 

Is there anything available for Compressor to do this, or is there something else out there I can use to transcode?

    In theory, it should be possible to download an codec package that Compressor would use to output  for Avid – and I've read threads where others have claimed to have made it work. That said, I tried doing this a few years ago and had no success exporting the correct codec/package.

     

    Alternatively, you might try a Pro Res workflow. I don't use Avid, so I can't test this. Here are some  step-by-step instructions.

     

    If anyone else here has a proven workflow, hopefully they'll weigh in.
