Shared Photo Album - all contents suddently ERASED!!

I had a shared photo album (created by someone else) that contained 75-100 photos and videos. From one day to the next all the contents were erased from the folder on everyones devices. The folder still shows up but it is completely empty.

Any idea what happened or how to recover? 😕
