photos disappeared after using iCloud Photo Library (Beta)

I engaged the iCloud Photo Library (Beta) last night and backed up to the Cloud. This morning I discovered that all of my photos that I had taken on earlier iPhones and had uploaded from iTunes on to my iPhone 5S were gone. Where are they and how do I get them back on my phone? Specifically in the Years tab under collections?

Thank you!

iPhone 5s, iOS 8.1.2

Hi goblue123,

Welcome to the Apple Support Communities!

I understand that some of your older photos appear to have been removed from your iPhone after turning on iCloud Photo Library beta. Please read over the attached article for why this may have happened. If the photos are still on your computer, you can sync them back to your iPhone.

What if some of my photos are missing after I turn on iCloud Photo Library?

iCloud Photo Library won't upload lower resolution photos and videos synced to your device from iTunes. You can use these steps to move the photos from your computer to your iOS device.

Best regards,

Joe
