Should I restore my whole system in order to recover old Firefox settings?

To improve my browser's speed I allowed Firefox to reset to default settings. Now I regret doing that and would like to use Time Machine to restore my computer to the way it was last night. Someone please guide me through this process. I feel nervous about it.

Quit Firefox if it's running.

Triple-click the line below on this page to select it, then copy the text to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination command-C:

~/Library/Application Support

In the Finder, select

Go Go to Folder...

from the menu bar and paste into the box that opens by pressing command-V. You won't see what you pasted because a line break is included. Press return. A folder will open. Enter Time Machine and restore the subfolder named "Firefox" from a snapshot the predates the unwanted changes.
