I recently uninstalled and the download I tunes again. I am not getting a message when I try to add new download tunes to my shuffle. "Disc cannot be found"; Error Code (.53). What can I do to fix?

I updated my Shuffle software and after that could no longer add tunes from the ITunes file to my shuffle. I get messages that say the disc cannot be found and an error code (.53). I can download new tunes to ITunes on my computer but cannot then copy them to my Shuffle. Any suggestions? Damned updates!!!
