The item “D2741100”

I just had a file show up on my desktop that I could not move, open, or move to trash. I could not even access any files on my desktop or applications. All it had on the ID was D2741100. I did receive an error code "The item “D2741100” can’t be moved to the Trash because it can’t be deleted." It looked like a zip file. The only way I regained control of my system was to restart the Finder. Does anyone know what this is or where it may have come from, and most importantly - is it still on my system and can it hurt my computer. Forgive me if this is in the wrong spot. I just did not know when to post this question. As always thanks in advance for your time and knowledge.
