How do I hook up a regular printer

To the AirPort Extreme so that it can be a wifi printer ?

This is not quite the case..


You can use the printer over wifi if it is plugged into the router by ethernet or by USB .. as long as you use the standard network printer driver.. a computer connected by wireless can certainly use the printer..


However what I think you mean is airprint will not work.. which is correct.. so plugging a non-airprint capable printer into the AE by ethernet or USB will not make it available on ipad or iphone..


There are apps to get around the problem of printing from iOS to non-airprint capable printers and there are special softwares available like printopia to allow airprint compatiblity to a printer plugged into network without wireless.
